The Murphy’s Furniture Family has been involved in presenting the community’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade since its inception in 1979. The parade is a symbol of hope brought with Spring. This year, the parade is also a symbol of hope for REAL CHANGE in Washington County. The Vote Red Wortham for Washington County Sheriff campaign will be in the parade sharing its message of hope for the county and we need YOU to walk with us!
We are looking to provide the kind of crowd that inspires people to get engaged and learn more. We are looking to bring the energy that puts a smile on children’s faces and shows the community we are invested! Bring your whole family, your neighbors, your friends. We have plenty of candy and are hoping our signs are in on time as well!
DETAILS: Parade staging begins at 9:00 am at Hare Field in Hillsboro (1151 NE Grant St), and the parade begins at 11:00. You can join us any time between 9:00 and 10:30. Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We have a truck, banner, loads of candy, and signs.
Following the parade, there will be family-friendly fun activities at the Hillsboro Civic Center. Also, the Friends of the Hillsboro Community Senior Center is holding their 2nd Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Fundraiser from Noon to 2:00 p.m. This Fabulous Feast is set up as a “To Go” or on-site “Sit Down” meal. It will be held at the Hillsboro Community Senior Center (750 SE 8th Ave in Hillsboro), with over 250 plates planned on being served.
Fill out the form to commit to joining us for the parade. We can’t wait to see you there and spread the message of hope for a better Washington County!
