Nationwide raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are expected starting Sunday and lasting at least several days in at least nine major cities targeting undocumented members of immigrant families. At least 2000 people are expected to be targeted not including collateral arrests of others found during the raids.
San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston, Chicago, and Denver are expected to be the major cities targeted. New Orleans was on the list but is believed to be temporarily delayed because of hurricane warnings.
These raids will, most likely, continue, especially if they are successful. Plan accordingly.

Know Your Rights
Several organizations are providing advice to assist immigrants that advise people to not open the door regardless of how aggressive agents are: ICE only has permission to enter homes of individuals if they have a Judicial arrest warrant signed by a Judge and all the details on the warrant are correct. They can show you the warrant by way of pressing it against a window or slipping it under the door. In most cases ICE does not have the proper warrant but, they may be dishonest. Review any warrant they may give you and make sure it is signed by a judge and that all the information is correct and relevant. Administrative warrants, which is what they usually have, do not give them permission to enter.
Do not answer any questions without a lawyer. Not a single word, in particular, regarding your citizen status. Period. Ask for a lawyer.
Do not sign anything. You don’t have to sign anything. Don’t believe anything you are told you will get if you sign anything. Ask for a lawyer.
Record everything. Names and numbers of officers. Keep the cameras rolling.
If you have children, have a plan for where they go, who cares for them in the case that you are arrested.
